The WOW (Women of the World) organization is an international initiative supported by the British Council. It aims to celebrate women and girls while addressing the challenges they face worldwide.

WOW festivals are globally organized. One such mega festival was organized by WOW organizing team at DHACSS College for Women phase VIII on Friday, October 25,2024,featured career-focused sessions that catered to students’ diverse interests, including NLP workshop conducted by Ms. Nazish Hussain; Fine Arts workshop on gesture drawing and contour self portrait drawing for fine Arts students conducted by Ms. Summayya Jillani, and Yoga session by Ms.Amafah. These workshops provided practical insights and skills essential for career navigation and development.

Moreover, a thematic panel discussion on ‘Navigating Career’, with a lineup of highly accomplished women comprising Fatima Mullick, Dr. Wajeeha Rahman, Naveen Naqvi, Zahrah S. Vayani, and Quratulain Poonawala, offered inspiration, guidance, probability and limitations regarding career making, highlighting real-life experiences and achievements in various fields, and concluded on an inquisitive and interactive question and answer session. Students asked questions inquisitively which were answered by panelists candidly. The whole discussion proved to be engaging.

The festival was attended by a host of students not only from the host college but from other DHA schools,comprising DHACSS Phase VII and DCK Campuses. Dr. Farhat Agha,Principal DCW, expressed gratitude to the Principals of the above schools for their participation in the WOW festival, contributing to the event’s success.

As festival and music go together so it was closed on melodious note, that is the captivating musical performance by Nabila Bano Malik, which was greatly enjoyed by students, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere to wrap up a serious day.

All in all, the WOW festival proved to be a channel to students to explore their potentialp
by adopting and adapting different professions, encapsulated with infotainment.
